Ruth Fett MSC
Parent Coach
Child Development Consultant
Executive Director

Ruth Fett is a passionate advocate for families.  She believes that today's parents need support to deal with the many issues of raising children created by our society.  Ruth is a single mother of eight children and has a unique understanding of the stress parents face in raising children day to day.

Ruth has worked in the human services field for 25 years. Children have always been at the center of her life.  She has found her greatest joy in being a parent, a day care provider, a youth sports coach, a school counselor, and volunteering with various children's programs.  As a school counselor at a public elementary school, she passionately researched parenting theories and discipline approaches.  What she found was that though parenting is the most important job we will ever have, it is also greatly misunderstood at least in part by most parents. Parents have the best of intentions, therefore a little coaching is all they need to be successful.

Ruth earned her undergraduate degree from the University Of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and her Masters of Science in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.  Her professional development focused on theories of parenting and discipline.  Solution focus is the driving force behind the no-nonsense approach she takes to parent coaching.  As part of her mission to spread quality parenting information to as many parents as possible, Ruth has authored parenting articles in magazines and newpapers.

When you hire Ruth, be ready for action.  Together you will immediately begin to learn the many advantages of assertive parenting.  Ruth is a straight forward, no-nonsense coach.  She has gained a great deal of experience working with a variety of families and has found that a strength based approach that assumes functionality is the most effective.  Together parents and coach will take the current issues facing your family, set aside the blame and focus on solutions.  This approach saves time and greatly increases the chance of success.  After just a couple of sessions you will feel more confident, empowered and less stressed.

As a parent coach Ruth seeks to empower families to be a functional, happy, and loving team of individuals invested in their collective future.  Ruth offers the option of coaching in the comforts of your home or working over the phone.  Ruth firmly believes all families can find a balanced, happy, enjoyable life.   In the past Ruth has worked with parents of children ages 10 months to 18 years.  Ruth has coached married parents, blended families, single parents, divorced parents, foster parents and adoptive parents.  She would consider it truly an honor if you would allow her the privilege of coaching your family to happiness.

As a Child Development Consultant, Ruth has presented at local university conferences, provided professional development to day care and pre-school staff and presented to groups of parents on a variety of child development issues.  She has received very positive feedback on her presentation style.  Ruth's presentation style has been described as engaging, informative and empowering.  Combine comprehensive research in the area of child development, graduate level education and the practical life experience of raising eight children and the results are powerful.
